Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to David Moyes’s West Ham United having a late goal ruled out against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Newcastle United legend believes that Maxwel Cornet’s late goal for West Ham against Chelsea should have stood.
Cornet had the ball in the back of the net in the 90th minute.
The West Ham summer signing pounced on from close range, but it was ruled out for a foul on Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Referee Andrew Madley consulted the pitchside monitor and overturned the goal.
Chelsea were 2-1 up at that stage, and Thomas Tuchel’s side went on to win the match by that margin.
Newcastle also had a goal against Crystal Palace controversially ruled out.
And BBC Match of the Day pundit Shearer was not impressed.

Alan Shearer on Chelsea v West Ham United VAR controversy
Chelsea had to come from behind to win the London derby against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues will probably feel a bit lucky that the VAR decision went in their favour.
