There’s no doubt that Aaron Ramsey is an Arsenal legend.
The Wales international spent 11 years on the Gunners’ books, scoring 65 goals, setting up another 65 and winning three FA Cup titles.
Ramsey also scored late winners in two of those three FA Cup finals, including one in extra time eight years ago as Arsenal ended their nine-year trophy drought.
The 31-year-old is a fantastic footballer but it’s safe to say that his latest World Cup display wasn’t one of his best.
Ramsey struggled in a massive way this afternoon as the Welsh suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat by Iran in Qatar.

He was sacrificed after Wales were reduced to 10 men following a red card for Wayne Hennessey on 86 minutes, and that substitution summed up his struggles, given that he’d be one of his nation’s better players overall.
Wales Online didn’t pull their punches when assessing the former Arsenal midfielder.
They gave him a 2/10 rating and wrote: “Another poor showing from one of Wales’ big players. Looked lethargic and off the pace. Rarely seem him look so off colour and was a big blow to Wales’ hopes. Subbed after Hennessey’s red card.”
Supporters of the Emirates Stadium outfit were used to seeing their Welsh wizard exert major influence over Arsenal outings, prior to his release in 2019.
So to see him so ineffective, on a big stage, was somewhat of a surprise.
