Rangers progressed to the Europa League with a 5-2 victory against Royal Antwerp

Ryan Kent was a standout performer home and away against Royal Antwerp, but one former Rangers player believes there’s a lot more to come from the youngster.
Kent, who cost Rangers £7m from Liverpool, was left out of the starting lineup for last week’s Europa League round of 32 first leg in Belgium.
After coming on at half-time, however, he provided a significant attacking threat for Steven Gerrard’s side and scored the fourth in a 4-3 win.
Rangers progressed to the last 16 with a 5-2 victory at Ibrox on Thursday night, and Kent scored the pick of the goals.

Former Ibrox stars Alex Rae and Ally McCoist both heaped praise on the 24-year-old, who was linked with a move to Leeds by the Sun in August 2020.
Asked on BT Sport about Ryan Kent’s response having not started the first leg in Belgium, McCoist said: “Excellent. Positive, absolutely positive. The correct reaction.
“He came off the bench last week at half-time, turned the game. I thought he was very, very good. Wonderful goal.
“He’s scoring goals, he’s bringing goals to his game. He’s got something different, the drop of the shoulder. A little bit of pace to go by people.”

Rae added: “I think that’s one of the key things for Ryan Kent, because numbers as an offensive player are how you’re judged.
“That’s him into double figures. He’s got a dozen assists as well. And I think there’s so much more to come from this guy.
“He’s still learning. He’s at a big club as well now.”
Reviewing his goal to make it 3-1, McCoist said: “See that there, that’s brilliant.
“The timing of the run there is absolutely perfect, absolutely spot on. The timing of the run is superb.”
