Jamie O’Hara says Moises Caicedo is being ‘so disrespectful’ to Brighton as he tries to push through a late January transfer to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The 21-year-old posted on Instagram recently that he wants to leave Brighton and ‘take up this magnificent opportunity’.
And, whilst the defensive-minded midfielder didn’t directly name Arsenal, it doesn’t take Einstein to work out who and what the ‘exceptional’ player is alluding to.

Brighton fans and those running the club are probably sick and tired of all this because that’s player number three that is trying to force a move in less than 12 months.
Back in the summer, after winning Brighton’s Player of the Season, Marc Cucurella forced a transfer to Chelsea, whilst Leandro Trossard ended up having a falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi before he moved to the Emirates Stadium himself this month.
Caicedo is trying to join that party, but O’Hara isn’t exactly pleased with how he is going about things, as he told Sky Sports (28/01/23).
“You have to do what they have done, ban him from coming into the training ground,” said O’Hara. “I think it’s really poor from him. He has been badly advised.
“As a football player, Arsenal are supposedly in for him, it’s a big-money move and the opportunity to play for a huge football club.
“But it’s so disrespectful to Brighton, it’s not like he is in a League One or Championship team. He is playing for Brighton, who are flying, by the way, and playing really good football, with brilliant fans. They have given him the opportunity.
“So, for him to come out and say ‘he wants to leave’. The deal isn’t even done, it’s probably not anywhere near being done. For him to come out and say that, I think it’s poor as a player, not professional.”

CAICEDO ACTIONS UNDERSTANDABLE
Brighton fans won’t like it, but it’s understandable why Caicedo is pushing for this deal this month.
At the end of the day, he sees the pot of gold, not the money, but the chance to become a Premier League champion.
Whilst Arteta and Co. have a long way to go, the lure of joining a team at the top of the table, with a five-point lead and a game in hand, would be pretty hard to turn away for many, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Caicedo pushes this right until the end with this one.
