According a report by the Evening Standard, Chelsea target Moises Caicedo is considered ‘not for sale’ by Brighton & Hove Albion this month.

Chelsea target Caicedo deemed not for sale by Brighton

GiveMeSport had reported that Graham Potter’s side had planned to make a second bid for the 21-year-old, after their initial £55 million bid was rejected.

Furthermore, Arsenal were reported by AS to be plotting a hijack for the talented young midfielder.

But now, it seems as if Brighton have deemed Moises Caicedo, described as ‘exceptional’ by club CEO Paul Barber (via Daily Mail) as not for sale, with Chelsea hoping to make a move.

Additionally, the Blues have their fingers crossed that Roberto De Zerbi’s side’s interest in other midfielders forces them to change their current stance on the youngster.

It has been claimed that it could take up to £100 million to ensure that the Seagulls change their minds.

But even then, it has been reported that Moises Caicedo, who is a ‘top target’ for Chelsea is not for sale as per Brighton in January.

It seems as if after bringing in the likes of Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke in January, the Ecuadorian talent is not set to join the aforementioned list of names.

Big blow for Chelsea

If there’s one area of the pitch were Chelsea need surgery, it is in midfield and before Brighton decided that Moises Caicedo was not for sale, he would have made for the perfect addition.

The World Cup sensation possesses tenacity and skill in abundance and at such a young age, which would make him a masterstroke of a signing for any side.

With N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic’s fitness struggles, Conor Gallagher yet to adapt to his boyhood club’s playing style and Mason Mount out of form, this latest revelation is bad news for the club.
