Early days, but Arsenal are enjoying a wonderful season so far and the Premier League table tells as much.
The Gunners were top of the standings prior to this latest gameweek but Mikel Arteta’s side will move back to the summit today if they beat Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have won seven of their first eight games of what’s shaping up to be a very exciting campaign.
Gabriel Jesus, a £45 million signing from Manchester City during the summer, has played no small role in how brilliant the North Londoners are playing these days.

And even if it isn’t this season, Sky Sports‘ Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Arsenal are potentially only one more quality signing away – another Jesus, for instance – from being the real deal in England again.
Sheth told Give Me Sport: “Whether they can be title challengers this season, I don’t know.
“But make no mistake about it, if they continue on this trajectory and they continue to get their recruitment right, the likes of Gabriel Jesus, what a signing he’s turned out to be, then why can’t they be title challengers in the not too distant future?”
It has been 18 years since Arsenal last won a Premier League title and therefore Sheth’s comments will no doubt excite the Gunners’ fanbase.
And honestly, he’s probably right.
In fact, if Arteta gets a good slice of fortune on the injury front then what’s to stop them from challenging City this season?
Victory over the Reds would put Arsenal 14 points clear of Jurgen Klopp’s side – 10th in the Premier League table – and with them practically out of the equation in that event, who’s to say the Spanish manager can’t make his team sustain this bid?
