Reporter, Kaveh Solhekol, told Sky Sports on Thursday morning that one source has told him that the deal for Mauricio Pochettino returning to Tottenham is ‘done’.

The sky journalist also claimed that Harry Kane would ‘love’ to work with Pochettino again and it’s ‘most likely’ he will stay at Tottenham if the current PSG boss is back on their turf.

Only 18 months ago, Spurs were parting ways with Pochettino in a heartbreaking fashion, despite him leading the club to the Champions League final.

But, fast forward to today, and it seems as though Daniel Levy is looking to bring him back in Tottenham colours.

Solhekol shared an insight into what he is hearing about the Poch-Spurs rumours and how this possibly affects their star man up top.

“I don’t think he’s totally settled in Paris,” said Solhekol. “I think he would be open to the option of returning to Spurs.

“Spurs want to get this sorted out. The sort of noises coming out of the club are that they want to appoint a manager probably within the next ten days and Mauricio Pochettino is definitely one of them.

“One source I have spoken close to this morning actually said that he felt that the ‘deal was basically done and Pochettino would be returning to Spurs’, but that’s just from one source. And that’s not something we can report definitively.

“I think Harry Kane would love to work with Mauricio Pochettino again. There was a really, really strong deep connection and bond between the two men. Is it enough to keep Kane at Spurs? I don’t know – I think if Pochettino were to come back then it would make it more likely for him to stay.”

This would be a pretty remarkable turn of events if it were to happen and it would no doubt lift the glum mood around North London.

But looking from the other side, does Pochettino really want to return? Or is he playing mind games to try and get more of a transfer pot at PSG?

The issue here is that he has only been in the job since January, and even then he hasn’t even been able to win the Ligue 1 title, is he willing to leave given that there is unfinished business?

There is no doubting the affection Poch has for Spurs because he understood the club and all that it stands for.

But this would be a real shock if Pochettino is brought back by Levy during these coming weeks.
