Dharmesh Sheth says Shakhtar Donetsk are trying to ‘make a point’ with Arsenal transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk following their recent activity on Twitter.

The Sky reporter added that Shakhtar are trying to ‘tell everyone’ that Mudryk is their player, unless Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal stump up the £85 million transfer fee for his signature.

On Wednesday, Shakthar posted on Twitter two images of their much-wanted player, added with a heart and diamond emoji, amid these well-documented Arsenal transfer rumours.

It resulted in many Arsenal fans responding to the post, with over 20k+ likes, including messages of #freemudryk.

With the January transfer window heading towards the halfway stage, the Arsenal faithful aren’t letting up and they want the Ukraine international signed up.

The player himself can’t stop sending hint after hint on his own social media platforms, he might as well just wear the Arsenal colours because he can’t make it more obvious that he wants the move.

Nonetheless, this is what Sky transfer expert Sheth made of it all, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports News (11/01/23).

“Interestingly, and we can see something from the Shakhtar Twitter feed,” said Sheth. “They made a point, didn’t they of displaying a couple of pictures of Mykhailo Mudryk in training in Turkey, with a diamond and heart emoji as well.

“Just to tell everyone, Mykhailo Mudryk, as it stands, is a Shakhtar Donetsk player and he will remain a Shakhtar Donetsk player, unless Arsenal meets the valuation.

“Coincidence that, at the time, he’s in huge talks over an enormous move to Arsenal worth £85 million. Probably not a coincidence, just my opinion.

“Subliminal (message)l? No, it doesn’t look subliminal to me – I am saying, at a time when Arsenal and Shakthar are in talks, they have made a point of putting pictures of Mykhailo Mudryk up.”

TIME IS TICKING

Given all this talk about Mudryk, the Premier League leaders wanting him and the player himself wanting to move, the last thing you want to happen now is a transfer not going through.

Shakhtar are seemingly happy for the player to leave, but only if their valuation is met.

Whilst Eddie Nketiah is finding the back of the net since Gabriel Jesus’ injury, the club still needs to bulk up their forward line because it doesn’t seem as though their Brazilian star will be back anytime soon.

Mudryk isn’t going to be brought in to play as an out-and-out centre-forward, but to provide cover on the left channel, with the possibility of Gabriel Martinelli moving down the middle, if Arteta sees fit.
