Marc Behrenbeck has claimed that Arsenal summer transfer target, Christopher Nkunku, will be a target to leave RB Leipzig next summer, as he told Sky Sports News.

The Sky Germany reporter was asked to name players from the Bundesliga that could leave in 12 months and he put forward Nkunku’s name.

This despite the 24-year-old signing a new contract at Leipzig a number of months ago to end all talk about him leaving during the window.

One of the teams that were vying for the ‘dangerous’ Frenchman’s signature was Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but nothing serious materialised.

Last season, Nkunku scored an impressive 35 goals and supplied 20 assists in all competitions, including helping his team to the Europa League semi-final.

Well, it seems as though in 12 months, the versatile forward is going to be a hot topic again, as transfer expert Behrenbeck shared which top talents in Germany could leave.

“Christopher Nkunku as well,” said Behrenbeck. “Patrick Sheik is the best striker in the Bundesliga from Bayer Leverkusen. These are the targets for next summer.”

NKUNKU PICKS UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF

Nkunku has the world at his feet and his stock will only rise during these next 12 months, so if anyone wants him, then they have to pay serious money.

After six league games this season, he already has four goals to his name, and with Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland out of the door, he could argue that he is one of the best attackers in Germany.

But what could also help elevate the player’s game is the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Nkunku will more than likely earn his plane ticket as the World Champions aim to defend their crown, and if he shines, £20+ million will be added to whatever the player is already valued at by his club.
