Dharmesh Sheth told Sky Sports News (23/08/21 at 5:25 pm) that Arsenal are ‘hopeful’ that Martin Odegaard can feature for the club against West Brom on Wednesday night.
The 22-year-old re-signed for Arsenal on a permanent basis from Real Madrid last week.
And now fans want to see him in action, but there is hope that his visa will be ‘processed’ in time for their EFL Cup clash against the Baggies.
If Odegaard can get that golden ticket from the powers that be then it will be interesting to see if Mikel Arteta hands him a start.
This is what Sky reporter Sheth had to say about Odegaard making his eagerly-anticipated second debut for the club.
“Arsenal are hopeful that Martin Odegaard will have his visa processed in time for him to play in Wednesday’s League Cup tie against West Brom at the Hawthorns,” said Sheth.
“Remember, he completed a deal worth around £34 million from Real Madrid on Friday.”

In the midst of the doom and gloom at Arsenal, this news will excite and lift those away supporters heading down the M6 tomorrow.
Arteta simply can’t afford a defeat and getting knocked out in the League Cup to a Championship team because there is already talk about his future.
When rumours start circulating about how long Arteta could have to save his job then that already spells trouble.
But a player of Odegaard’s ilk will no doubt sprinkle some much-needed magic stardust on this team and get this Arsenal train going.
