Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has just five games to save his job after a disappointing start to the new Premier League season.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Arteta must turn results around before the October international break or risk losing his job.
The Spaniard was hoping to start this season well after a disappointing campaign last term, but has opened with a pair of 2-0 defeats at the hands of Brentford and Chelsea.
No wins, no points, no goals; Arteta finds himself under huge pressure with 25 defeats in his 88 games as Arsenal boss.
Arteta’s next five games have some tough games in there.
It’s a trip to Manchester City next weekend, then a home game against newly-promoted Norwich City.
A trip to Burnley is far from ideal, and neither is a North London derby against Tottenham at the end of September. Brighton are the final opponents in that run and could pose major problems after a strong start to the season.

If Arteta can’t pick up results by then, he could find himself out of a job less than two years since leaving Manchester City for a return to the Emirates Stadium.
The report adds that Arsenal are ‘likely’ to go for Antonio Conte as their next manager.
Formerly of Chelsea, Conte is out of work having left Inter Milan at the end of last season despite winning the Serie A title.
Conte rejected a move to Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, and convincing the Italian that Arsenal can compete for silverware won’t be easy.
