Sky Sports have reported some new Arsenal injury news that’ll surely have Tottenham Hotspur supporters daring to dream a little bit more about Champions League qualification.

Tottenham are only one point away from securing a top-four finish at the expense of Arsenal, who lost a North London derby last Thursday and succumbed to Newcastle United on Monday to make themselves huge underdogs at this stage.

And with Spurs visiting relegated Norwich City on Sunday, in the final Premier League gameweek, well Antonio Conte’s outfit should absolutely get the point needed to return to Europe’s elite competition.

Even if they don’t, some Arsenal injury news emanating from London Colney means beating Everton at the Emirates is far from a foregone conclusion.

Not only might the Toffees be scrapping for Premier League survival, but the Gunners’ injury crisis could potentially get a lot worse.

According to Sky reporter Katie Shanahan, on site at Colney yesterday, Mikel Arteta wasn’t able to include Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu or Emile Smith Rowe in Wednesday’s session.

With Kieran Tierney injured already, not having White, Gabriel or Tomiyasu would mean that literally none of the Spanish manager’s first-choice back four are available.

And if that materialises, well surely Tottenham supporters – and Conte – can start humming the Champions League anthem.

Even if Arsenal are at full strength, it would take a massive capitulation from the Lilywhites to allow their neighbours a sniff at top four again, but if Arteta has to cobble together a defence, against a desperate Toffees side, well suffice to say the odds are even more stacked in Spurs’ favour.
