Kieran Tierney has posted on his Instagram story ‘such is life’ as well as saying ‘thank you’ to Arsenal for wishing him well following his injury news.

On Tuesday, Arsenal received the news they didn’t want to hear and that’s the real possibility their left-back could be out for the rest of the season because he will need surgery on his knee, as posted by Sky Sports.

Tierney missed his side’s 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night, with Nuno Tavares, the man who came in for him, getting hooked at half-time by Mikel Arteta.

It just goes to show the lack of quality behind the Scotsman, as the Gunners have now been dealt a major blow ahead of a difficult run-in to secure Champions League football.

The issue for Tierney himself is that, if he is indeed out for several months, then he might also miss Scotland’s crucial World Cup qualifiers in June.

They are due to play Ukraine in a one-off semi-final game, with the winner advancing to the final where Wales await them.

Whilst Scotland do have Andy Robertson, they will still hugely miss Tierney’s presence on that left-hand side because he is deployed on the left of a back three by Steve Clarke.

Either way, this news is devastating for all, as Arteta now has some big, big decisions to make.

Tavares was the man who replaced him yesterday, but, from a defensive aspect, he was all over the place at Selhurst Park.

Plus, after being hooked early during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest, it’s not exactly going to do the club’s summer signing the world of good after he was told to have an early bath once more.

All in all, this could be game-changing for all involved, as Arsenal need to pick themselves up from the canvas if they are to reclaim fourth spot in the Premier League table.
