Kevin Campbell has said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel that Arsenal should make a move for Jan Oblak, saying that Bernd Leno is not a top goalkeeper.

The former Arsenal striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Oblak would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Campbell has said that if the opportunity to sign the 28-year-old Slovenia international goalkeeper comes up, then Arsenal should take it.

The Englishman has added that the Atletico star is the best goalkeeper in the world.

Campbell said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel: “100%. I think Leno is a good keeper, but I don’t think he is a top, top level keeper.

“Oblak for me is the best, best goalkeeper in the world, he is the best, and if you have got the best goalkeeper in your goal, you have got the chance.”

Jan Oblak to Arsenał?

Leno is a good goalkeeper, but the 29-year-old Germany international has made mistakes this season.

Oblak is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has been in top form for several years now.

While the Slovenia international would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal, one would have to ask whether the Gunners would be able to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Atletico could end up winning the La Liga title this season and they play regularly in the Champions League, while Arsenal may not even finish in the Premier League top four.

It is hard to see Atletico sell Oblak anytime soon, and even if the Spanish club are open to offers, it is unlikely that the Arsenal will be able to meet their transfer demands.
