Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:20pm, April 3, 2022) that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane changed the game against Newcastle United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham hammered Newcastle 5-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Newcastle took the lead in the first half, but Spurs restored parity within minutes and then stepped up their game in the second period.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports, and he was hugely impressed by Kane, saying that the 28-year-old England international striker changed the game.

Carragher said about Kane: “He hasn’t scored, Tottenham scored five goals, but his performance in the second half completely changed this game.”

Kane did not score for Tottenham against Newcastle, but the 28-year-old was stunning, especially in the second half.

The England international striker dropped deep and was operating as a playmaker at times.

Kane provided an assist.

The striker has evolved as a player over the past two or so seasons, and we are now seeing just how good he is.

Kane is one of the passers of the ball in the Premier League, and that played a huge role in Tottenham’s win against Newcastle today.
