Sky pundit Darren Ambrose has said that while Mohamed Salah got on the scoresheet for Liverpool in their 2-0 win against Wolves, he did not particularly play well.
After scoring his 20th goal in all competitions against Julen Lopetegui’s side this season, the Egyptian became only the 2nd Reds player to do so in 6 consecutive seasons after Ian Rush. Even Michael Owen was left stunned by the £34 million (Sky Sports) man’s remarkable consistency.
However, Sky pundit Darren Ambrose said that while Mohamed Salah did get his goal, he had far from his best game in a Liverpool shirt against Wolves.
Sky pundit Darren Ambrose left unimpressed by Mohamed Salah as Liverpool beat Wolves
The ‘world-class’ winger has been slated left, right and centre this campaign, with Gary Neville once saying he is not what he was, at least in the ongoing term.
While pundit Darren Ambrose does acknowledge that the goal scored by Mohamed Salah to seal the win for Liverpool against Wolves was key, he also pinpoints that overall, he did not have his best out outings on Sky Sports.

“This is an ugly win and an ugly goal from Salah, who has been sloppy, he’s not kept possession at all but he’s got his goal and will probably now fancy another one!”
Fair comment
Ultimately, big moments such as goals and assists from forward often cloud fans and pundits alike’s judgement about their all-round displays.
While Sky pundit Darren Ambrose does give Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah the credit he deserves for kneeing the ball in for his strike against Wolves, he also assessed the flaws in his performance.
Considering Salah is one of, if not the greatest wide player to ever grace the Premier League, it is understandable that the standards remain high, 6 years after his return to English football.
