Stephen Warnock says Leicester City fans and Brendan Rodgers will be ‘concurred’ that their star man James Maddison could be joining Newcastle United.
The England international is a transfer target of Eddie Howe and Warnock spoke about how the Champions League-chasing side have been ‘heavily linked’ with the player.
There was talk in the summer about Maddison possibly swapping the colours of Leicester for Newcastle, but a transfer didn’t materialise.

Fast forward to the present and a lot has changed. On Boxing Day, the Magpies blew away the Foxes, who were without the injured Maddison.
As a result, they are sitting in the Champions League places, whilst Leicester’s struggles continue. But could Maddison be headed for the exit door to make things worse? Well, former Premier League left-back Warnock spoke on that matter, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.
“It will be a concern (Maddison’s knee injury) because Leicester look like a completely different team without him,” said Warnock.
“He is able to retain the ball. He is able to take pressure off his team at vital times in a game. They will want him back as quickly as possible.
“We have just spoken about Newcastle there. I think Maddison’s been heavily linked with a Newcastle or a move away from the club. I think that will also be a concern for Leicester fans and Brendan Rodgers.”

MADDISON’S SIGNING COULD BE GAME-CHANGING
The 26-year-old is at the peak of his powers, scoring goals for fun, winning games and making himself known to the wider public.
Last season, he scored 12 goals and supplied eight assists in the Premier League and during this campaign, he already has seven goals and four assists to his name.
Despite spending a few years away from the England set-up, Gareth Southgate could no longer ignore the playmaker and he was part of England’s World Cup squad in Qatar.
If the Magpies snap him up, then a midfield three of Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Maddison could just guide Newcastle to Champions League football.
