Jamie O’Hara told Sky Sports News (26/07/21 at 2:40 pm) that Arsenal will sign a ‘top player’ in Ben White.
The former Premier League midfielder thinks Arsenal’s potential big-money signing will be ‘under pressure’ as soon as he walks through the doors.
It’s been a long summer of speculation surrounding White, but it seems as though he is now edging closer to wearing Arsenal colours.
O’Hara lauded White as a player, both for his club and country, and praised the Gunners for pushing the boat out for the ball-playing defender.
“I think he is brilliant,” said O’Hara. “I have enjoyed watching him play. He has been very good for England when I have watched him.
“He can play holding midfield as well. And centre-half. I think this is a great signing for Arsenal.
“£50 million is a lot of money, I guess. Question marks will be raised over it and he will be under pressure straight away to perform.
“But I really like him. I enjoy watching him play. And that’s a good signing for Arsenal. They needed to get on top of it. They needed to make a marquee signing, especially at the back. They have signed a top player.”

Whilst Arsenal fans are pleased with the club edging closer to White’s signature, it’s not enough to turn their ship around.
Other areas of the pitch need to be addressed, including the attacking third and adding a sprinkle of creativity into the team.
Mikel Arteta has Emile Smith Rowe’s ball-carrying qualities at his disposal, but more zip and attacking energy is needed.
Perhaps Leicester City’s playmaker, James Maddison, is the one who can provide them with that spark because he would elevate the North London side if he were to join them.
