The ‘skilful’ centre-forward, as described by Jeorge Bird has represented the Danes in the past but having played for the English until very recently, this could hint where his international future lies.

As shared by the Danish Scout, Arsenal wonderkid Chido Obi has indeed been named in the Denmark U-16 squad, despite having played for the England U-16 team.

Alongside forwards like Jonathan Moaelem and Lasse Abilgaard, the teenager comprises the attacking options further up the pitch for the nation’s upcoming games against Saudi Arabia, Guinea and France in the group stages in the Montaigu Tournament.

As Chido Obi, who is known to be one of the most talented players in the Arsenal academy has been picked by Denmark as part of their U-16 squad yet again, it seems like he closed the door on a call-up from the England U-16s again.

Several young players in particular feel pressured to make a choice regarding which country they should represent due to national federations constantly pitching them the prospects of playing for them.

However, as Arsenal whizkid Chido Obi has shown by playing for both the Denmark and the England U16s, it is smarter to keep one’s options open.

Now that Obi has played for both countries’ national teams and trained with the respective coaches and players as well, it seems as if representing the Danes appeals to him a lot more in comparison.

Interestingly, the teenager was also eligible to play for Nigeria, which goes to show that while he had possibly the biggest decision to make about his international career, he has made up his mind after assessing his options.
