Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that he has completed changed his mind about Bryan Gil.
Conte has said that in the summer of 2022, Tottenham wanted to send Gil back on loan to Valencia.
The 21-year-old Spain international winger spent the second half of last season on loan at La Liga club Valencia from Premier League outfit Tottenham.
Conte had earlier said that Gil – who moved to Tottenham from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 for £21.6 million (Sky Sports) – needed to do better to succeed in the Premier League.
However, the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss has now claimed that he trusts the youngster, and that he could play against Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Antonio Conte on Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil
Conte said about Gil: “Still in the squad, Bryan Gil. Tomorrow he is the first option for our attack.”
The Tottenham boss added: “We are talking about a young player a good prospect. We wanted to send him on loan to Valencia but the situation has changed.
“I trust in him, he is working very well. If we need the possibility to give him time, I trust him. He could play.”

Encouraging
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte’s comments should be music to the ears of Bryan Gil.
They suggest that Gil will get chances for the Tottenham first team in the coming weeks.
And it is up to the Spain international winger to make the most of the chances.
Now, of course, we must not forget that Gil is only 21, so Tottenham fans have to be patient with him.
However, the winger also has the responsibility to do the best he can.
