Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that Bryan Gil lacks the physical aspect of the game to succeed in the Premier League.
Gil moved to Tottenham from Sevilla in the summer of 2021, but Spurs head coach Conte decided to send him on loan back to Spain.
The winger switched to La Liga club Valencia on loan until the end of the season on January transfer deadline day.
Tottenham head coach Conte has said that although Gil is a very good player, he is not ready physically to succeed in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte on Bryan Gil
Cone told Football.London about Gil: “You know that I like to tell the truth and for sure we’re talking about a really good player in Gil, because he has good quality and he understands football quickly.
“In this moment, for sure this league is very tough. This league is different. If you compare this league with other leagues, you play another sport here.
“For this reason when you go to sign a new player, you have to consider many aspects. Not only one aspect, if he shoots well or makes an assist, you have to consider a lot of situations because this league is very difficult.
“You can be good with quality. You can be a creative player, but at the same time you have to be strong physically. You have to run a lot, to be resilient.
“The impact of this league is not simple. It’s not simple. For this reason, the market, before signing a player, you have to check many aspects and not going on emotional things.”

Worrying for Tottenham Hotspur
In our view, it is worrying for Tottenham winger Gil that Conte thinks that he is physically not ready for the Premier League.
Now, of course, Gil is only 20, and if he works hard in the gym, then he could still develop physically.
However, we have to ask how much the Spain international winger will grow in the coming weeks and months.
Will Gil get strong enough at Valencia to make an impact for Tottenham next season?
Conte is one of the best mangers in the world who has won league titles in England Italy.
So, in our view, the former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager is in a great position to give his verdict on Gil.
