Simon Jordan has been speaking about Tottenham target Marc Cucurella on talkSPORT, after the defender asked to leave Brighton.
What’s the story?
Well, the 54-year-old is furious with the Spain international after he handed in a transfer request at the Amex Stadium.
Cucurella is attempting to force a move away from Brighton following a £30m bid from Manchester City, while Chelsea have now submitted an offer of £50m for the left-back.
Tottenham are yet to bid, although they have shortlisted the 24-year-old as a target.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said: “Sit down and shut up. You’ve got a five-year contract. No one forced him and said you must sign a contract with Brighton. Brighton have the right to say, if we are to be the victims of the situation, then it’s only on our terms.”
In truth, he has a point.
Cucurella is entitled to be ambitious and aim to play at the highest level, but he must be respectful of Brighton, and also respectful of the five-year contract he signed.

The Seagulls are well within their rights to place a large valuation on their No.3’s head, given the fact they developed him into the player he now is, while there are also four years remaining on his contract.
Interest in Cucurella comes after he made 39 appearances in all competitions for Brighton following a £15m move from Getafe, scoring one goal while also providing two assists.
Tottenham should ignore Marc Cucurella
If Spurs were planning to bid for the Manchester City and Chelsea target, they needn’t bother.
Antonio Conte already has Ryan Sessegnon, Sergio Reguilon and Ivan Perisic to choose from in the left-back department, so another option in that area simply isn’t needed.

Admittedly, Tottenham are trying to sell Reguilon, but even with Sessegnon and Perisic, Conte has plenty of options – Ben Davies can also play there if need be, despite being used at centre-back by the Italian.
£50m is a lot of money, and if Conte really does want another left-back, there are surely cheaper options out there.
