Trevor Sinclair said on talkSPORT (12:40pm, December 9, 2020) that Arsenal fans would love to have Jack Wilshere back at the club.
The former Manchester City and West Ham United winger, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that signing Wilshere on a pay-as-you-play deal would be good for Arsenal.
The 28-year-old midfielder is a free agent at the moment, having left West Ham in October.
The Englishman was on the books of Arsenal from 2001 until 2018 before leaving the North London club for the Hammers.
Sinclair said about Wilshere on talkSPORT (12:40pm, December 9, 2020): “I am wondering whether that Jack Wilshere story will rear its head again because pay-as-you-play deal for Jack, I think a lot of Arsenal fans would be up for that.”
Back to Arsenal?
Wilshere is a very good midfielder who knows Arsenal inside out, and with the Gunners lacking creativity in the absence of Mesut Ozil, they could do with someone like the Englishman.
The 28-year-old has already suggested on Twitter that he would be open to playing for Arsenal again, and manager Mikel Arteta himself told the club’s official website last month that he rates Wilshere “really really highly”.
Perhaps a contract in January 2021 until the end of the season could work for both free agent Wilshere and Champions League hopefuls Arsenal.
