Simon Jordan told talkSPORT that Tottenham bringing back Mauricio Pochettino is ‘no different’ to West Ham doing the same with David Moyes in 2019.

As Tottenham search for a new manager, there are rumours circulating that Pochettino could return to North London.

West Ham brought back Moyes in December 2019 and fast forward to today and they have finished above Tottenham during the recently concluded 2020/21 Premier League table.

Just because Moyes returning to the London Stadium has worked out for West Ham, it doesn’t mean Spurs will have the same success.

And whilst ex-Crystal Palace owners, Jordan, can see Daniel Levy pulling off such a move, he warned Tottenham against making such a decision.

“Bringing him back when the same circumstances exist, is he going to get money to spend from Tottenham’s ownership,” questioned Jordan.

“Is he going to get more? And have the circumstances changed? I don’t think so. Then you add to the mix that he hasn’t pulled up trees at France right now. But he has gone to PSG, with far more economic opportunities and certainly better players than Tottenham have got.

“Why would he come back to Tottenham unless there is a really good reason and I cannot find why that reason would be.

On Jordan knowing Levy personally: “I can see it (happening) – I can see that coming back into play with Pochettino. But very rarely do you go back and make a success.

“It’s no different than Gold and Sullivan bringing David Moyes back, is it?”

It wouldn’t be a surprise if there is an air of regret from Levy in sacking Pochettino in the first place because of how things have panned out since.

Whilst Spurs were seriously struggling at the time – sitting bottom half of the table, conceding for fun and with no away win on over a year.

It was the first real blip from Pochettino as Spurs boss, and in truth, he wasn’t properly backed in the transfer market with more emphasis on moving into their new stadium than continually refreshing those players out on the pitch.
