Simon Jordan told talkSPORT that he heard a rumour about Newcastle United exploring a deal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
Recently, it has been confirmed by Manchester United’s club website that the club legend has left after reaching a mutual agreement.

Since the 37-year-old’s exit from Old Trafford has been confirmed, it has been reported by the Daily Mail that Jorge Mendes offered his client to the Magpies.
Even MARCA claimed that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner was mulling over whether to join Eddie Howe’s side.
As one still digests the shocking speculation regarding Ronaldo and Newcastle, Simon Jordan backs the mega-transfer to get over the line.
Jordan believes Ronaldo to Newcastle is on
While most fans and pundits alike do not reckon the switch will go through, Simon Jordan explains why it could on talkSPORT.
“I heard a funny little rumour doing the rounds amongst the group of talking heads that may have some understanding of these things.”
“And they were exploring the dynamics of this alleged Saudi Arabia deal (£306 million offer for two seasons, as reported by talkSPORT).”
“It was a little thought through nod and a wink that they knew what they’re talking about. He’d [Cristiano Ronaldo] go into Newcastle and then find himself in Saudi.”
“But I think there is a discussion that could possibly find itself in the world of landing [Cristiano] Ronaldo in Newcastle.”
In the MARCA report mentioned earlier, it was claimed that the Portuguese captain was also considering joining Al-Nassr.
In our view: The move will not happen and it should not too
Ultimately, it seems unlikely that Newcastle will halt their measured transfer approach to bring Cristiano Ronaldo in at St. James’ Park.
However, stranger things have happened in football, and at this point, anything Ronaldo-centric would not come as surprise.
But it would be catastrophic business from the Magpies to ditch their approach to sign a player of his stature on a clear decline.
