Simon Jordan showered praise on to Brentford striker and Newcastle United transfer target Ivan Toney.

The controversial pundit only had nice things to say about the England international, who the Mirror claimed is being considered as a potential signing by Eddie Howe’s side.

As Fabrizio Romano also claimed earlier this month that Ivan Toney could be gearing towards a transfer amid links to Newcastle United, Simon Jordan has gone on to sing his praises.

With the Magpies almost certain to secure European qualification next season, it is only natural that their targets will become increasingly ambitious.

While Alexander Isak looks bang in form, the club may looking to bring another striker in like Ivan Toney as the last thing they are seemingly looking to do is put their foot off the gas.

As Newcastle continue to get linked with a summer transfer for Ivan Toney, Simon Jordan has lauded him on talkSPORT.

“I’m a huge Ivan Toney fan. I think he is outside of Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, obviously, the best centre-forward in the Premier League and one of the best centre-forwards in Europe.”

“And I think he suffers perhaps from playing for a smaller club in people’s minds. He suffers from the preconceived perception of how he came back to the Championship, that he was an unorthodox player and he would he get on in the Premier League. Well, how he would get on in the Premier League is cause people absolute mayhem!”

Newcastle fans will likely agree with Simon Jordan as Ivan Toney has been sensational since returning to the Premier League with Brentford, with as many as 16 league goals this season.

While some may consider the comparisons to Kane and Haaland as egregious, Toney’s numbers speak for themselves.
