Speaking on the Five YouTube channel, Anton Ferdinand has been waxing-lyrical about Noni Madueke amid continued transfer links to Leeds and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old sensation has been absolutely ripping the Eredivisie to shreds over the past two years.

Last term he netted seven goals in just 24 appearances, and he’s followed that up with three goals and two assists in 15 outings this term.

Madueke has been very impressive over in the Netherlands, and he’s certainly caught the eye of Ferdinand.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand spoke about Madueke.

“Do you know what? I really like this kid as a player, but it kills me that we’ve had another kid who’s had to leave England to find first-team football. Jadon Sancho went away and he was a joke. He’s come back and struggled, never played in the Prem before. This could happen with him, play some games and move, but other countries are trusting our young players before we are,” Ferdinand said.

“He’s at PSV wearing number 10 coming in off the right onto his left foot. He’s got the stature and the silky chops like him, Cole Palmer too, he emulates Mahrez. He shows you the ball and tries to entice you in to nick it. Not many players have that and can show you the ball and anticipate and manipulate the ball.”

Talent

Madueke has the talent to be an absolute star of the future, but as Ferdinand says, teams have to be wary about his lack of experience in this country.

Jadon Sancho has struggled massively since returning to England with Manchester United, and with all due respect, he was coming from a much stronger league than the Eredivisie.

Madueke will probably need to be afforded plenty of time if he was to return to England, but if the right coach gets hold of him and trains him correctly, he could be a real star.
