Jamie O’Hara has said that Tottenham Hotspur should avoid appointing Ryan Mason as their next manager.
It was reported on Thursday by David Ornstein that the 31-year-old is a ‘highly regarded’ coach and could perhaps get the job if he ensures Spurs’ season ends brilliantly.
However, Jamie O’Hara has said that Tottenham Hotspur would be making a poor appointment by making Ryan Mason their manager.
Jamie O’Hara says Tottenham should not appoint Ryan Mason as their manager
The young coach’s second stint in N17 has certainly started off brightly, as the Lilywhites came back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
It is widely expected that Mason is simply one to steer the ship along for the time being before a world-class tactician is brought in by the club.
After a Tottenham fan called for Ryan Mason to become their next manager, Jamie O’Hara said he would be vehemently against that decision.

“Come on”, he opened on talkSPORT.
“If you’re going to attract big players…you can’t be giving the job to Ryan Mason. It’s got signs of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer written all over it.”
“They do [managers want to come to Tottenham], you’ve got the facilities, you’ve got London, you’ve got the stadium, whether you like it or not, there is money to spend. They’re going to attract a big manager in the summer, I don’t know who it is, I really don’t.”
“But it ain’t going to be Ryan Mason.”
Perhaps a majority of Tottenham supporters would align with Jamie O’Hara, as appointing Ryan Mason as manager would certainly be a risk.
HITC View: Spurs need a much more seasoned manager
While bringing in a young coach is not an issue, one that has little or lacks any top-level experience is one who should be avoided
With the mountain of issues that Tottenham are facing and have done so for years, Jamie O’Hara is right in emphasising that an elite manager is required at the club instead of the unexperienced Ryan Mason.
Risks should be worth taking and with the number of out-of-work tacticians in the game currently, it would be ludicrous to give Mason the keys.
