The Emirates Stadium has hosted some of the most famous names in football. And Monday night saw former World Cup-winning captain Fabio Cannavaro attend Arsenal’s Premier League clash.
The ex-Real Madrid and Juventus superstar posted on his official Instagram account via Football Italia a photo of himself watching the Gunners’ 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace from the stands.
Cannavaro was a former teammate of Patrick Vieira, who was on the touchline for the Eagles as Arsenal secured a last-second equaliser through Alexandre Lacazette.
With the Gunners putting on a performance to forget, it was a game that Cannavaro will probably erase from his memory sooner rather than later.
Arsenal didn’t have to do too much defending against their south London rivals. However, two errors in the midfield saw Palace score two huge goals as Vieira’s side were mere moments away from securing a massive result.
With Ben White and Gabriel also being suspect for the two goals, Cannavaro would have no doubt been unimpressed by the two Arsenal defenders.

Indeed, it wasn’t the best of matches for Cannavaro to attend. Yet Arsenal supporters on social media were still stunned that the 2006 Ballon d’Or winner attended the fixture.
