Nuno Espirito Santo has reportedly sanctioned a deal for Tottenham Hotspur to sign Miralem Pjanic.
Sport have reported that the newly-appointed Spurs boss has pushed the greenlight on a move for the Barcelona playmaker.
Pjanic is heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer following a difficult first season at the club.
The 31-year-old cost the Spanish giants a cool £55 million last summer but Pjanic struggled to live up to the fee.
Here’s how some Tottenham fans reacted to the report from Spain:
Needed
Tottenham aren’t linked to that many attacking players so far.
Right now, the bulk of their interest seems to be centered around the addition of defensive players, like centre-backs Jules Kounde and other figures like this.
But the Lilywhites absolutely need new attacking quality this summer.
Even if Harry Kane winds up staying in North London, which seems unlikely, it’s massively important to give him the sort of support that makes him want to stay at the club.
Apart from Son Heung-min, Spurs’ offensive players are a little hit and miss, but the good news is that Nuno, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy have time on their side to change this – and Pjanic wouldn’t go amiss, it has to be said.
