Glasgow Rangers loanee Sean Goss had a hand in the decisive goal at Ibrox last time out.

After proving to be almost non-existent in the most recent Old Firm clash at Ibrox, Sean Goss seemed to see all of the momentum that was built up during the first few weeks of his Rangers loan spell evaporate completely.

In January, Goss appeared to be the least inspiring loan addition that the Gers made. However, he took little time to prove to anyone who doubted him that he was a very shrewd signing, scoring a couple of stunning free-kicks and showing a level of composure on the ball that led to both Graeme Murty and Ian Holloway publicly talking about his future weeks into his loan spell.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, his form dipped and he was quickly taken out of the side, with Graham Dorrans and Jason Holt among those to have benefited in his absence.

But Goss provided a reminder of his quality at the weekend, and that should leave Jimmy Nicoll with a decision to make ahead of the Gers’ trip with Aberdeen tonight.

The former Manchester United starlet came on with 16 minutes remaining and put in the superb cross that allowed David Bates to score the game’s only goal in their 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday.

With the Rangers fans slating Dorrans’ display in the same game, perhaps Nicoll should reward Goss for his moment of quality by recalling him to the starting lineup against the Dons.

Goss may need the Gers to have control of the midfield battle to be allowed to be at his influential best, but he showed how dangerous he can be in the victory. And with Dorrans still struggling to find his best form, perhaps it is time to give the loanee one final chance to impress.
