Well, Emerson Royal and Davinson Sanchez didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Antonio Conte’s side needed to dig very deep to avoid another embarrassing defeat.
A double from Kieffer Moore had Bournemouth 2-0 up on Spurs by the 50-minute mark, but the Lilywhites wound up returning to North London with a 3-2 victory.
Rodrigo Bentancur prodded home a last-minute winner for the visitors on a day when Emerson and Sanchez had performances to forget.
Both were questionable in defending the hosts’ first two goals and according to Ramon Vega, a former Tottenham player, Conte simply cannot afford to use them both in the same starting XI ever again.

Vega said on Twitter after the game:
Sanchez isn’t among Conte’s favourite central defenders at Spurs, but the Italian manager does seemingly have a soft spot for Emerson.
For whatever reason, the former Barcelona right-back keeps getting second chances to prove himself and yet the Brazilian – who literally kicked the ball out of Bournemouth’s stadium when going for goal – rarely vindicates his manager.
Not only is he suspect defensively and consistent in reminding Tottenham supporters of that, but he also picked up a needless red card in a North London derby defeat by Arsenal earlier in October, when Conte’s side – who lost 3-1 – were only losing by one goal at the time.
