Everton had previously attempted to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United back in 2015.
Back in 2015, Everton attempted to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United (Liverpool Echo), but they were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the Mexican.
Hernandez opted to move to Bayer Leverkusen two years ago, but Everton could have more success if they went back in for the 28-year-old now.
At the time when Everton initially tried to sign Hernandez, they had no European football to offer him and they looked set to remain as a mid-table side for the years ahead.

However, with Farhad Moshiri now at the helm, and Ronald Koeman in charge, there is an exciting project building at Everton.
And The Toffees may just have to pulling power to convince Hernandez that a move back to England would be worthwhile.
Hernandez has previously hinted that he would be open to a transfer from Leverkusen this summer (HITC), and he has unfinished business in the Premier League.

The clinical forward was arguably sold prematurely by United, and he was always a dangerous option during his time at Old Trafford.
A move to Leverkusen seems to have progressed Hernandez’s game on to new heights too – as he has smashed in 38 goals in 74 appearances for the German side.
And with Everton looking to add another striker to their ranks, Hernandez could be the perfect option for Ronald Koeman’s men.
