Tottenham were mocked by Roy Keane last night as the 51-year-old brutally criticised West Ham for a “useless” performance in the FA Cup.
What’s the story?
Well, the Manchester United legend was talking alongside Ian Wright and Joe Cole on ITV after West Ham suffered a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford, where Spurs caught a stray dig from the outspoken Irishman.
Keane said: “They come, they get a bit giddy, they have opportunities. It’s loads of teams – not just West Ham but the Spurs’ of this world. They come to Old Trafford, they have a little bit of possession, one or two chances, get all excited and end up getting beaten.
“Defensively West Ham were shocking, absolutely useless.”
Keane certainly didn’t hold back.
It was interesting to see Tottenham be brought into the discussion, as the north Londoners were not in the conversation at all as the ITV panel analysed West Ham’s defeat to Manchester United.
It just goes to show that Keane doesn’t think much of Spurs at all, to the point where a poor performance from another side immediately makes him think of Tottenham.
In truth, Tottenham’s abject performance against Sheffield United last night, which resulted in a 1-0 defeat, did little to prove the likes of Keane wrong.
Tottenham and West Ham fans will be gutted
In our view, Tottenham and West Ham fans will wake up today and feel like their respective sides both missed out on a huge opportunity.

The likes of Grimsby Town, Burnley, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United are in the Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup, which, with all due respect, represents a very achievable route to the Semi-Final for Fulham, Brighton, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Tottenham and West Ham both would have been in with a tremendous chance of winning the FA Cup had they progressed from the 5th round, although after underwhelming displays from both sides, they’ll now have to wait until next year.
