Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor says Matheus Nunes’ actions at Wolves are ‘shocking’ as he tries to force a transfer to Manchester City.
The Treble winners are keen on signing the 25-year-old this summer, with the 2023 summer transfer window slamming shut on Friday and Matheus Nunes deciding to go on strike.
But it hasn’t impressed ex-Villa man Agbonlahor who stated on Twitter that ‘Wolves deserve better’.
It hasn’t exactly been a great summer for Wolves, FFP issues, manager leaving days before the new season and then a slow start to the new Premier League season.
Yes, that win over Everton is a massive, massive boost, but the team can’t afford to lose more players from within their squad because it will hurt them in the long term.
Nonetheless, upon hearing of Nunes going on strike as he tries to force a transfer to Manchester City, this is what Agbonlahor made of it all.

“Shocking,” said Agbonlahor. “Wolves deserve better.”
Disgraceful Nunes
No-one is going to deny Nunes wanting to move, at the end of the day, it’s the Treble winners knocking on your door.
But to go on strike, not train and act like a child is just pathetic and beyond disgraceful.
If it wasn’t for the fans, then players like Nunes wouldn’t get paid such a healthy amount.
At the end of the day, if his move to Man City doesn’t come about, then he has a lot of making up to do.
