Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could now reportedly miss out on Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Matheus Nunes from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph reported last week that both City and Liverpool want to sign Nunes.

The report claimed that Liverpool are “keen admirers of Nunes”, while journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that the Reds want to sign the 25-year-old.

However, it seems that Nunes wants to join City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, City have made a new bid for Nunes.

The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter that the Portugal international has already agreed personal terms with the Citizens and is keen on a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Romano has added that City are confident of getting a deal done for Nunes.

And this will come as a blow for Liverpool.

If Nunes has agreed personal terms with City already and is keen on working with manager Pep Guardiola, then it is hard to see Liverpool change his mind now.

After all, the summer transfer window will close in a matter of days.

Nunes has made 36 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The midfielder has scored one goal and given one assist in those games.
