Nigel Reo-Coker has slammed Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool for a ‘shocking’ transfer window and not going for players like West Ham United-bound, Mohammed Kudus.

The Ajax star is closing in on a move to David Moyes’ West Ham United and Reo-Coker thinks that the versatile attacker is a ‘great buy’.

But the former Hammer added that Mohammed Kudus is a player that Liverpool have ‘the ability’ to sign, but seemingly aren’t getting, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

After parting ways with five midfield players this summer, the Reds have brought in three new faces, but perhaps not all of them were top targets.

It was well-documented that Liverpool wanted Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, but instead, they headed to Stamford Bridge and joined Chelsea.

In the meantime, the likes of West Ham are now having a great transfer window, which was touched upon by Reo-Coker – a £38m deal has been agreed with Ajax for Kudus, according to Sky Sports.

“You look at Liverpool and they have had a shocking window,” said Reo-Coker. “For the club that they are and the players that are available on the market.

“You look at West Ham, getting Mohammed Kudus. That is a great buy there. Top talent from Europe. You look at Manchester City and Jeremy Doku

“Liverpool have the ability to attract these players, but they haven’t been pro-active.”

Transfer deadline day approaching

It needs to be noted that West Ham have had the Declan Rice money to spend and they have done pretty well with it.

Whilst the Reds haven’t had £100 million+ come in this summer, they did sell Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, yet the answer to their sales was the capture of Wataru Endo.

Therefore, if Liverpool fans are watching the likes of West Ham spend and spend well in envy, then it wouldn’t be a surprise because the lack of ambition at the top of the club needs to be questioned.
