Fans of the forward’s parent club have already urged Rangers to move for him, with Steven Gerrard now the manager at Ibrox.

The Scottish Mail on Sunday reported in June that Rangers had made a fresh approach to loan Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn.
But rather than reuniting with his former manager Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, Woodburn eventually moved to Sheffield United.
According to the Sheffield Star, however, the Blades are targeting January additions in both attacking midfield and centre forward positions – both of which Woodburn can play.
And having played just 10 minutes of football since the middle of September – making Chris Wilder’s 18 twice in that time – the Wales international’s Bramall Lane future is looking increasingly bleak.
Liverpool will certainly not fancy a repeat performance in the second half of the campaign, and it is hard to envisage too many complaints from Sheffield United’s end if Woodburn is indeed recalled in favour of a move elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express reports that Rangers are eyeing four new recruits of their own when the transfer window reopens, with attack a primary area of concern given Umar Sadiq’s struggles and Jamie Murphy’s injury.
And by that logic, a Woodburn reunion with Gerrard is perhaps not out of the question.
