Arsenal are pursuing a deal for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale – and the Blades are now looking into a move for Robin Olsen.

That’s according to Italian newspaper Il Tempo, who claim that advanced talks have been held between Sheffield United and Roma over a deal for Olsen.

A loan deal is expected if there are no hitches, with Olsen making a quick return to English football.

Olsen spent last season on loan at Everton, mostly serving as backup to Jordan Pickford, though Carlo Ancelotti did give him seven Premier League games.

The 31-year-old played for Sweden at Euro 2020, and despite his impressive form this summer, he may only land a Championship move.

There is no way Olsen would be dropping into the Championship to play second fiddle, so this move hints Aaron Ramsdale could be on the move.

Arsenal have been chasing Ramsdale for weeks now, and The Mirror reported over the weekend that the 23-year-old is considering a transfer request to force a £30million move to North London.

With Sheffield United now going for Olsen, it points towards the Blades preparing for life without Ramsdale.

Great news for Arsenal given how much they appear to want Ramsdale, though you may have to question paying so much money for a goalkeeper who isn’t noticeably better than Bernd Leno.
