Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale now wants to submit a transfer request to try and force through a move to join Arsenal.
That’s according to The Sunday Mirror (15/08, p73), who claim that Ramsdale is desperate to sign for Arsenal before the transfer deadline later this month.
Arsenal have failed to strike a deal for Ramsdale so far, having multiple bids rejected having fallen short of the £30million asking price.
Ramsdale is now considering drastic action and may submit a transfer request to try and force Sheffield United’s hand in search of an exit route.
The 23-year-old allegedly fears that Arsenal will move on to other targets if he can’t force the Blades into selling him soon.
Ramsdale did start for Sheffield United in Saturday’s game at Swansea City, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw down in South Wales.
He isn’t letting the rumours distract him, but is seemingly making it clear that he wants to leave Bramall Lane and return to the Premier League.
Ramsdale ultimately has England aspirations and has been branded ‘fearless’ by Alan Shearer, so Edu seemingly wants him at Arsenal.
It would be likely that he would compete with Bernd Leno rather than be immediate first choice, but it seems that Ramsdale realises time is running out.
