Sheffield United share an interesting history with West Ham United.

Sheffield United fans are reacting to reports that West Ham United are trying to sign John Fleck ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
According to the Sheffield Star, Sheffield United have rejected West Ham’s initial offer for Fleck – rumoured to be worth around £4 million – although the Sun claims that the Hammers have since made another bid.
The 27-year-old has played a key part in the Blades’ rise from League One to the cusp of the Premier League under Chris Wilder’s management, and has scored seven goals and set up 32 in 122 league and cup games throughout that time.
It goes without saying then that those of a Sheffield United persuasion would be loathed to lose him this window – especially to West Ham United, the team that bent the rules to survive relegation from England’s top flight at their expense 12 years ago.
Stephen Ainsworth @ste_ainsworth93: If we ******* sell John fleck to West Ham, United can officially get ****** off!
Alex @artw86: Replying to @dannyhall04: 1. £4m for Fleck in this market is insulting. Not even close to reflecting his value to us, or the cost of replacing him.
2. West Ham can **** right off. If they need a midfielder they can re-sign Mascherano, the cheating cockney ********. Short memories #twitterblades
Bobby @bobby_sufc: ******* West Ham though. They relegate us and then intend on keeping us away from prem by stealing Fleck. Seriously ******* do one
Nephew of the former Rangers striker, Robert Fleck, the Sheffield United star began his career at Ibrox before spells at Coventry City and Bramall Lane.
He earned his first Scotland call up late last year, in the absence of several players – including the West Ham winger, Robert Snodgrass.
