Alan Shearer has included Leeds United winger and Newcastle United transfer target Jack Harrison in his Premier League Team of the Week, after his wonderful display in a “memorable” 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Harrison, 25, has looked like a completely different animal this season. In his first Premier League season, he had a hand in 16 goals in 36 Premier League matches. His second season saw him score eight league goals for Leeds.
But this season, he already has four goal involvements in his first three Premier League matches. An assist and a goal in the win over Chelsea comes after assists against Wolves and Southampton. Harrison is in the best form of his life.
Phil Hay reported on Monday that Newcastle’s second offer for Harrison was worth £22million. However, Leeds rate the uncapped Englishman in the region of £40million. Shearer included him in his TOTW, applauding Harrison.
“Produced his third assist of the season and scored a goal to complete a memorable afternoon for Leeds,” Shearer wrote, as he included him alongside Leeds duo Jesse Marsch and Brenden Aaronson, as well as four Newcastle players.

What a performance from Leeds. Aaronson is well worth his inclusion, and had Tyler Adams and Rodrigo also been selected, there would have been no qualms. But Harrison was arguably the pick of the bunch for Leeds on Sunday.
Every time he got the ball, it looked as if something would happen. Thomas Tuchel started Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a right wing-back and Harrison made him look sluggish, drifting past the midfielder time after time, effortlessly.
Chelsea reverted to the more natural right-back of Reece James at the break, but Harrison simply upped his game. He added to his assist for Rodrigo with an instinctive, well-timed finish. A stunning display, but he is set to stay at Leeds.
