Newcastle reportedly made a second bid for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison last week, which the Whites rejected comprehensively – and his latest comments suggest that he has no interest in leaving the Whites this summer.

Harrison, 25, has made a stunning start to the Premier League campaign. Against Chelsea, he was in stunning form – scoring and laying on an assist. The ex-Manchester City man looks the best he ever has done in a Leeds shirt.

The Whites need to sort his future out. The Athletic reported this week that Newcastle tabled a second offer. Phil Hay says on the Athletic podcast it was worth around £22million – but Leeds want as much as £40million for Harrison.

Since those reports, Harrison has spoken to the Leeds website – following the 3-0 win. He discusses the incoming season and about developing momentum: “It will give us confidence going forward that we are capable of doing that.

“We’ve set the standard now, we have to keep pushing the bar, keep our heads down and keep working. You can always build on them [these type of results] and we’ll be looking to do this every week now,” Harrison said.

Harrison comments suggest he has no interest in Newcastle

Harrison was asked about a move away from Leeds while on tour in Australia. He hinted at a possible exit, but those comments have since been played down – suggesting they were taken the wrong way, in the heat of the moment.

Now, it is clear – especially by his latest comments – that he is focused on Leeds this season. Harrison is in the final two years of his deal, and that will always generate interest. Especially, when he is playing the way he is at the moment.

But it is utterly obvious, regarding his latest comments, that Harrison sees his future at Leeds. He is concentrating on building with Leeds. The World Cup is on the horizon and the winger has a real chance of making a late push.
