Kieran Gibbs wants Jude Bellingham to secure a transfer to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, but added that it’s a ‘shame’ they don’t have the cash to sign the rising England superstar.

The former Arsenal left-back added ‘although it would pain me’ he thinks Jude Bellingham will secure a summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, instead.

The 19-year-old has been a long-term target of Liverpool, but the club have decided to back away – Jurgen Klopp is seemingly on board with the idea.

From those Steven Gerrard links to that friendship with Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, it’s going to be a difficult watch for Liverpool fans when Bellingham does move to a rival club – John Barnes labelled the teenager as ‘complete’.

The Anfield faithful will be hoping that it’s just not to a team in the Premier League, with Kieran Gibbs sharing his thoughts on the player, as he told ESPN.

“I would like to see Bellingham go to Man City, although, it would pain me because it would make them just as strong, if not stronger than they are already,” said Gibbs.

“I wouldn’t want to see him go to Real Madrid. He is at an age where he has already done so much and you don’t want to see him go somewhere and not get much game time.

“It’s a shame that Liverpool haven’t got the cash because there is just a big hole there that he can fill. It looks like he would slot in nicely.”

FSG UNDER MORE PRESSURE

Without Jurgen Klopp, those running the ship at Liverpool would probably come under more pressure and fire from the supporters.

You would think, given what Klppp has given and won for Liverpool, then the powers that be would push the boat out for him in the transfer market.

But clearly not because, come the summer, the Reds will have to try and sign the under-the-radar players in order to get themselves back on top again – France youngster, Manu Kone has been tipped to move to Merseyside.
