Mark Lawrenson told Off the Ball that Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, won’t sign for Chelsea because both clubs ‘seriously hate each other’.

The BBC pundit thinks Kane crossing the divide from Spurs to Chelsea is a big ‘no-no’, and even though the Champions League winners are interested in his services, he cannot see such a deal taking place.

Sky Sports reported last month about Kane’s desire to leave Spurs, with the likes of Chelsea keeping tabs on his situation in North London.

And given that Lawrenson cannot see Kane donning Chelsea colours any time soon, he thinks the preferred destination would be Manchester City.

“I don’t think he would go,” said Lawrenson. “I don’t think he would go from Tottenham to Chelsea, that would be the first thing.

“I think that’s a bit of a no-no. I think you are asking for trouble. They seriously hate each other as football clubs. But I am not quite sure where that actually came from.

“If Manchester City or Chelsea are interested then I think the majority of players would go to Man City.”

Whilst Spurs fans will still fret at the possibility of losing their star man this summer, for now, they can enjoy him work his magic at the Euros.

In the meantime, Daniel Levy has to get a new face through the door because a lack of manager is seriously hurting the club.

Plus, with the likes of Everton, Wolves and even Crystal Palace looking for managers, Spurs don’t want to be in a situation where one of their preferred targets ends up at Goodison Park, or elsewhere.

If Tottenham’s next manager so happens to be a familiar face in Mauricio Pochettino then it will no doubt increase Kane’s chances of staying, which is probably why Daniel Levy is seemingly pushing for his return.
