Marc Roca has been talking about Arsenal among a range of topics, as the £10m Leeds man was interviewed by Mundo Deportivo.

The 26-year-old was asked by the Spanish news outlet if he thinks the Gunners can win the Premier League title this season, a question he gave a lengthy answer to while also praising four Arsenal players.

What’s the story?

Well, Roca was full of praise for the north Londoners, but warned them about becoming complacent in the title race.

The Spaniard told Mundo Deportivo: “It’s very early. They are playing very well, having an incredible season, but this is the Premier League and you can’t take anything for granted. I think City have huge potential too. I would not say that anything is done.

“At Arsenal Saka and Martinelli, for me, are at a very high level. Gabriel Jesus was also very good, Odegaard. They are at a very high level. On our field we missed a penalty, we had very clear chances, we deserved much more and I think we put them in serious trouble.”

Roca is right – there is still a very long way to go in the Premier League title race, regardless of how impressive Arsenal have been this season.

Liverpool fans will tell you that there can be no margin for error in a title race against Manchester City.

The Reds somehow ended up finishing second to the Citizens in both the 2018/19 and the 2021/22 campaigns, despite recording 97 and 92 points in those respective seasons.

Therefore, despite Arsenal’s current five point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, complacency cannot creep in – if it does, Pep Guardiola knows how to take advantage.

Marc Roca’s Arsenal message applies to Leeds

While Arsenal are looking over their shoulder at Manchester City, Leeds also need to keep going.

As things stand, Jesse Marsch’s side are out of the relegation zone in 15th place, but are only one point ahead of Bournemouth, who sit 18th.

A number of signings were made to help overturn the situation, such as Georginio Rutter, Max Wober and Weston McKennie, but Leeds cannot become complacent and think these additions will be enough to keep them safe.

Like Arsenal, Leeds also need to keep their foot on the pedal – just at the opposite end of the Premier League.
