Goal.com has reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Andre Onana from Ajax in the summer transfer window, and the Gunners’ fans will probably be encouraged to know that he is rated very highly by Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier.

Arsenal want to sign Onana in the summer transfer window, according to Goal.com, with the report adding that a potential move depends on whether the goalkeeper has his ban for doping overturned.

The 25-year-old Cameroon international goalkeeper, who is reportedly valued at £12 million, has been on the books of Ajax his entire professional club football career and is a very experienced player.

Onana has played over 100 league games and has extensive experience in the Champions League and the Europa League as well.

Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier is a big fan of the Ajax star. As covered by HITC Sport in April 2020, during an Instagram live event, the Ivory Coast international choose Onana in his Dream XI.

Aurier has played with some of the best players in the world, such as Ednson Cavani, Harry Kane and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the Spurs player rating Onana so highly underlines just how good the goalkeeper is.

Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, but the German has made mistakes from time to time.

Mat Ryan has done well for Mikel Arteta’s side when he has been called into action, but the Australia international goalkeeper is only on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Onana would make Arsenal stronger and better, and given how a rival player such as Aurier rates him so highly underlines his quality.
