Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal wanted Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng in January 2021, and now Sheffield United want him, according to The Sun.

What’s the story?

United are interested in signing Dieng from QPR as a potential replacement for Arsenal target Aaron Ramsdale, according to The Sun.

Arsenal are keen on the English goalkeeper, who will cost £32 million in transfer fee.

The Blades have already started looking for a replacement.

The Yorkshire club have identified QPR goalkeeper Dieng as a potential replacement.

The 26-year-old could cost £6 million.

Interestingly, Dieng is a player Arsenal have been linked with before.

According to The Sunday Mirror (03/01), Arsenal wanted to sign the goalkeeper in January 2021.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.

Arsenal transfer happening?

The Blades reportedly looking to sign Dieng this summer indicates that Ramdale could join Arsenal.

After all, if United did not want to sell Ramdale at any price, then they would not be looking for a potential replacement.

What Arsenal now need to do is work hard in negotiating a price and then completing the signing of the English goalkeeper as soon as possible.

The new Premier League season starts in a matter of days.
