Arsenal made it three wins from three with a dominating 4-1 win against Leeds United, where Takehiro Tomiyasu was once again exceptional for the Gunners.
The Japanese defender was a presence in the right-back position as Tomiyasu commanded the flank with physicality and athletism against a depleted Leeds side.
Even with the fullback coming off with a calf injury in the second-half, Tomiyasu was one of Arsenal’s best players on the pitch as the north London side solidified their fourth-place position in the Premier League table.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka fired Mikel Arteta’s side up 3-0 before the break. And whilst a Raphinha penalty and Tomiyau’s injury threatened a comeback, Emile Smith Rowe wrapped up a 4-1 win for the Gunners heading into Christmas.
Indeed, Tomiyasu, who Arteta signed on deadline day last summer, has been one of the club’s best players this season and one of the key reasons behind Arsenal’s form this campaign.
The north London side have been one of the best defensive sides this season, and whilst Leeds were able to get on the scoresheet, Arsenal defended well against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
As well as defending, the Gunners were breathless in the attack. It was the first time Arsenal had scored four goals in a single game this season, and better finishing could have seen the visitors score more at Elland Road.
Arsenal fans speechless with Tomiyasu display against Leeds

Whilst Tomiyasu didn’t complete the full match, Arsenal fans on social media were very impressed with how the 23-year-old performed against Leeds.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say about Tomiyasu’s display against Leeds this weekend on Twitter…
