João Virgínia has wished Jarrad Branthwaite ‘good luck’ on Instagram after the Everton defender joined PSV Eindhoven on-loan for the 2022/23 season.

The 20-year-old was used in a sporadic fashion last season, but he is now set to ply his trade in Holland’s top division, with Premier League legend, Ruud van Nistelrooy, the manager of PSV.

When Branthwaite posted on Instagram that he is ‘delighted’ at his move to PSV, Virginia, who was also loaned to the Eredivisie this season, posted in the comments section ‘Good luck bro! See you soon’.

WHAT NEXT FOR EVERTON IN THE TRANSFER MARKET?

These aren’t memorable times for Everton because they have spent like crazy for a number of years, only to go backwards and find themselves scrapping relegation last season.

James Tarkowski joined from Burnley this summer on a free transfer, hence Branthwaite’s loan, but his arrival and the fact that it came with no transfer fee would have helped the financially-hit Merseyside club a lot.

But what next for Frank Lampard in the transfer market because last season’s squad needs refreshing and changing.

Richarlison is out of the door following his transfer to Tottenham, but that was probably more down to the fact that the club needed the money.

There is talk of attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White possibly joining from Wolves, whilst the Toffees could knock on Burnley’s door again.

Despite the Clarets suffering relegation, one of their standout players last season was Maxwel Cornet and now he is being tipped to move to Goodison Park.

Either way, with pre-season underway and the new Premier League season around the corner, Everton need to start adding to their squad, or else it might be another struggle.
